Top 3 Projects

I would have to say that my favorite 3 projects made by Armin Vit are the Brand Neue Conference, Graphic Design Referenced, and the Brand New logo. I think that they are my favorite since they best exemplify Vit's style and creativity. The Brand Neue Conference from 2016 has to be my favorite set of design works from Vit. It was mostly work featuring red X's but the way they were used in the logo and advertising for the event was very innovative. Graphic Design Referenced felt like a labor of love and very well thought out. The Brand New logo feels very professional to me and exemplifies Vit's style the best, simple but bold. 

Characteristics of Work

Armin Vit has a very methodical way of building a design and then putting it together. He often uses very bold types and very geometric patterns. He is very much a believer in using what influences a person and putting those characteristics into their own work. His style has a more sleek and polished feel as well. It is also apparent that he puts a lot of thought into his designs and comes up with very creative ways to make something simple become meaningful. 

Promotion

Armin Vit definitely promotes himself as a family man who tries to do his best. He and his partner/wife, Bryony Gomez-Palacio, have a small design firm called UnderConsideration. There, they promote themselves as a smaller company that is limited in numbers but whatever they come out with is fantastic. Most of Vit's promotion comes from his blogs, especially the brand rebranding blog Brand New. Because of all the blogs past and present, most people know Vit for brand logos. 

Reviews

It's safe to say that most people have very positive reviews about Armin Vit and his design firm. Most reviews that I read praise his logo work and the Brand New Conference, which at some points has had over 200 speakers. A lot of people also praise him for his blogs, which in the early ages of the internet created a space for designers to share and critique their works.

A list of things that I would like to make utilizing graphic design:  Advertisements for a children's channel Motion graphics video  Informational poster Illustrations for a cookbook A movie poster  Gathered Images "Permutations" (1968)                                             This is a motion graphics video by John Whitney which is around 7 minutes and 25 seconds long. This is one of the graphics in the video but it's very hypnotizing.  "True Advertisement" (1968) This is a very colorful advertisement for Lorillard Tobacco Company's True menthol cigarettes. I was really attracted to the bold pattern in the background and on the model's dresses. Project 2.0

  Semiotics- The study of signs, symbols, and how they are communicated. Denotation- Image or text that is straightforward and gives its exact meaning. Connotation- This is what is not directly stated in a message and can be found through image or text, the context behind an image or text, the form, or even the style. It's something Icon- Symbols or images that take on a very popular role and become synonymous with an organization, country, show, style, etc. Tone- The mood brought forth by a particular style of a design. Most people associate more realistic styles with more serious topics and more cartoony styles with a more childlike tone. However, these roles can be reversed if an author/artist chooses to do so. Metaphor- Imagery in comics that might convey a deeper message in the story.
